The Dorm Service Center will arrange the rooms based on students' preferences. However, when their preferences are fully booked, the Center reserves the right to assign students to another type of dorm and adjusts the dorm fees accordingly.

*National Health Insurance:

I understand it's compulsory to join the National Health Insurance on the 183rd-day stay after having the Alien Residence Certificate

The National Health Insurance Act stipulates that foreign nationals with a valid Alien Resident Certificate or Taiwan Area Resident Certificate ( including those from Hong Kong, Macau, and China) must be registered in the National Health Insurance program upon living in Taiwan for 6 months (6 months of continuous residence in Taiwan or with one trip abroad not exceeding 30 days when the actual residency period of 6 months is reached after the days abroad have been deducted). Once you are qualified to join the NHI, OIA will inform you by email. If you have already joined the NHI program, please inform OIA beforehand. The NHI fee will be included on the tuition fees payment invoice every semester. For more information, please visit National Health Insurance Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare.

International students are required to provide proof of personal health insurance or a valid NHI card upon registration. Students without personal health insurance or a valid NHI card may join the Cathay Life Insurance in Taiwan. The cost is NTD500 per month, and the insurance fee will be included on the tuition fees payment invoice. If you want to apply for Cathay Life Insurance, please fill out the online application by the end of July (fall semester) or December (spring semester).【Insurance plan】

Required documents for the insurance claim application (maximum coverage NTD 1,000 per day):

1) Compensation application form; 2) Certificate of diagnosis; 3) The original receipts of payment;

NSYSU provides FREE Chinese Language courses to international students every semester (4hrs per week, 12:10-13:50 pm, every Mon. and Wed.)

* Dual-degree students of the College of Management MUST complete and pass all Chinese courses in NSYSU to fulfill the graduation requirement.

* Those who have learned Chinese before are requested to take the Placement Test from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm on the orientation day (venue to be provided).

* Chinese Language Center has the right to adjust the class schedule/level based on the number of students in each class.
