Credit and Grading System


Every 18 hours is counted as 1 credit. If the total course hour during a semester is 54 hours, it is a 3-credit course.

Chinese Language Course


for Degree Students

Time: Monday and Wednesday 12:10-14:00 (Starting from Spring 2025, it will be changed to Monday and Thursday 12:10-14:00 )

* No credits will be offered.

* Registration survey for next semester will be sent out before the end of the current semester. (Students MUST reply to registration survey before a certain deadline)

* Any student who is absent for more than 26 hours (total hours are 54 hours per semester) will not be able to apply for next semester.

 

for Exchange Students

We offer a 54hrs free Mandarin course with 3 credits for exchange students. 

The application can be made when completing the exchange program application.

Beginners Class: Tuesday & Thursday 12:10 - 14:00 (Starting from Spring 2025, it will be changed to Tuesday & Friday 12:10-14:00 )

Students who applied for the Chinese language course and learned Chinese before must take placement tests before arrival. 

The Chinese Language Center will arrange students to appropriate levels/classes according to the result. 

A preparatory language course for incoming exchange students is available at the Chinese Language Center.
